Alec Mann
teaches: Tap and Jazz
Alec was born in Canterbury, but grew up in Perth, Australia. Returning to the UK to further his dance training at Doreen Bird College.
Alec started his career in London's West End performing in Saturday Night Fever (London Palladium) and Notre Dame De Paris (Dominion). This led onto a long working relationship with Kylie Minogue, starting with the Can't Get You Out Of My Head video and continuing with performances, videos and tours with Kylie all over the world.
Alec has danced for Emma Bunton, Jamiroquai, Shirley Bassey, Scissor Sisters, Lily Allen, Jamelia, Charlotte Church, Christina Aguilera, Meatloaf, Will Young, Girls Aloud and Tom Jones.
Other work includes Viva La Diva, Tap Dogs, West Side Story, Phantom Of The Opera film, Carmen, Dirty Dancing in concert and Beyond The Sea film.
For Kylie, he choreographed (with Rafael Bonachella) the video “Love At First Sight”. He also choreographed for her USA TV promotion tour and “Cybertronica” tap section for KYLIEFEVER2002.
As well as performing Alec teaches tap and jazz regularly at Stella Mann and Bird College.
